GBTI: Shine Through Trivia Official Contest Rules

By entering the GBTI Guyana Shine Through Trivia contest, you agree to and accept these Terms & Conditions: 

1. The GBTI Guyana Shine Through Trivia contest starts on 18th May, 2026. Winners will be chosen and announced weekly on Fridays until October 2nd, 2026.

2. Prize: Each winner will receive a branded GBTI item.

3. To participate, you must:

a. Follow two of the official GBTI Guyana Instagram/Facebook/TikTok profiles/pages

b. Comment with the correct answer to the Shine Through Trivia question posted on the contest graphic, which is published weekly on GBTI’s Instagram, Facebook or TikTok pages or profiles

c. Reside in the Co-operative Republic of Guyana

4. Winners will be randomly selected from all eligible entries with the correct answer. Only one correct answer per user counts as a qualifying entry

5. Announcements will be made via our official Instagram/Facebook stories and main feed

6. Winners must direct message (DM) the official GBTI Guyana Facebook page or Instagram profile within 48 hours to claim their prize. Failure to respond will result in choosing an alternate winner

7. Participants acknowledge that following all rules and eligibility requirements is necessary to win prizes in the GBTI Guyana Shine Through Trivia contest. Non-compliance will lead to disqualification

8. GBTI Guyana reserves the right to cancel, modify, or suspend the contest at any time if fraud, technical issues, viruses, bugs, errors, or other uncontrollable causes disrupt the competition. We will notify participants of any changes via email or on our Facebook page

9. GBTI Guyana does not guarantee uninterrupted access or use of any third-party websites due to the nature of the internet and electronic communications. GBTI Guyana is not responsible for issues like:

  • Lost or inaccessible networks, connection problems during the contest;
  • Communication failures, delays, or hardware/software malfunctions;
  • Personal computer or software issues, printing or typographical errors in prize announcements or notifications;
  • Any errors of any kind related to the promotion, whether human, mechanical, clerical, electronic, or technical;
  • Incorrectly capturing or failing to capture promotional information;
  • Issues arising from actions or omissions of third parties or third-party websites.

10. Any attempt to deliberately interfere with the contest’s legitimate operation, including fraudulent claims, may violate criminal or civil laws. We reserve the right to seek remedies and damages, including criminal prosecution, and disqualify participants engaging in such activities

11. GBTI Guyana is not liable for more than the prizes listed in the contest. In case of conflicts between these rules and promotional materials, the rules take precedence

12. If any rule or part of these conditions is found invalid or unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. They should be interpreted as if the invalid parts were not included. Employees of GBTI Guyana cannot waive or modify these rules

13. Participants agree to participate in promotional activities and allow us to use and disclose by GBTI in any form of media of their names, likenesses, and general location for publicity without additional compensation. Winners may be required to sign a Talent Release Form confirming consent for such use.

14. This promotion is not sponsored, endorsed, or associated with Meta. We collect your information to GBTI Guyana via Facebook solely to communicate and award prizes

15. GBTI Guyana reserves the right to manage, cancel, or end the contest at any time.
